Memorable Magic
Born on December 20, 1898 in Louisville, Kentucky, Irene Dunne was schooled in the arts from the time she could walk. Breezing through a short stint on the stage, she soon made her name in films with Oscar nominated performances in CIMMARRON (1931), THE AWFUL TRUTH (1937) and I REMEMBER MAMA (1948). In the 1939 film LOVE AFFAIR, she wore this stylish sapphire and diamond ring and, as before, was nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award. Known for her charity work, her personal philosophy rings true today...."When we have learned to love our neighbor, not just ourselves, no matter where we come from, then America will be perfect."
