Deborah Kerr, born Deborah Jane Trimmer in Scotland, was a shy, insecure child who found it easier to express her feelings through acting. Lucky us!! After being nominated six times for the Academy Award in EDWARD, MY SON (1949),FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (1953), THE KING AND I (1956), HEAVEN KNOWS, MR. ALLISON (1957, SEPARATE TABLES (1958) and THE SUNDOWNERS (1960), and having never won the Oscar, the Academy finally gave her an Honorary Award in 1994 for her screen achievements. In the film THE INNOCENTS (1960), Ms. Kerr wore a beautiful pair of gold earrings dangling from a pear shaped diamond with a pale blue center stone.
